This reclaimed modern coffee side table uses offcuts from our production of modern bespoke fitted furniture. It has always broken my heart to throw away anything, and these offcuts where just so sad to waste and throw away, filling up landfill and shortening the life of the material. By reusing these offcuts we are prolonging the life of these materials and therefore making them more sustainable than otherwise as we are keeping them in the cycle. I hope that these pieces will become collectors items which will make them more likelly to be passed down from generation to generation and hopefully not ending the cycle early. Beautiful classic timely design helps with this cause because it makes it less likely to be thrown away. Something that follows a fashion and is thrown away a few years after the fashion has ended makes it an unsustainable item. Something that is made of quality materials, well made to last, beautiful, useful and with some heart behind it will give it more of a chance of survival through the ages. Something produced on mass in a factory will not have quite the same appeal, especially if it is designed with fashion and low price in mind, this will date and not last the test of time.
